Understanding Your Child's Level

When your child gets started with Kinetic Education, our English tutors begin by identifying their current level against the Australian Curriculum. This helps us understand the skills they've mastered and where they need the most support right now. From there, we create a personalised learning plan tailored to your child's needs.

Personalised Learning Plans

Your child's personalised learning plan is delivered weekly and can be completed at home on a tablet or computer. New 20-minute English lessons are added based on your child's progress, helping keep learning at the right level and supporting a consistent learning routine.

Proven Progress

As your child strengthens their foundations, you'll see them build skills and confidence in reading and writing, and keep moving forward at a pace that feels right for them.

English Tutor Support

Every family is matched with an English tutor who oversees their child's personalised learning plan and progress. Tutors also provide additional support with writing tasks, including planning, structure, grammar, punctuation and feedback on each draft.

Year 11 English: What's Covered and How We Help

Year 11 English covers a range of skills across the Australian Curriculum. The overview below shows some of the key areas your child works on during the year, and how Kinetic Education can support them. Every child starts from a different point, so their personalised learning plan is tailored to their current level and continues to adapt based on their progress and results.

This means your child is always working through curriculum-aligned lessons, at a pace that suits them.

Melanie

After years of struggling with maths, Melanie’s daughter boosted her grades and confidence in just a few months with Kinetic Education. She has made so much progress that her new teacher didn’t even realise she had struggled with maths in the past.

Louise

Louise’s daughters started the school year feeling anxious to go to class, worried they wouldn’t understand maths concepts. But in just 4 months, their confidence has grown, and they are now happy to go to maths classes at school. Not only this, but their school reports and grades have boosted, but most importantly their confidence has too!

Rosie

Rosie came to Kinetic Education looking for support for her two children, who both needed completely different support. Her daughter was really struggling with maths, and homework time was always stressful, while her son was one step ahead at school and starting to feel bored. With support from us, Rosie’s daughter is now able to work through new concepts confidently, and her son gets the challenges he needs to stay one step ahead.

Year 11 English Tutoring Starts with Identifying Your Child's Level

When your child gets started with Kinetic Education, we begin by identifying where they are currently working in English, including language analysis, text study and essay writing. This helps us see where they may need more practice and where they are ready to move ahead. From there, we create a personalised weekly learning plan, so your child can work through the curriculum at the right pace for them.

Personalised learning

We update your child's learning plan with new English activities for the week, selected based on their progress each week. Your child's learning plan is structured around three learning stages: Revision and Catch-Up, Consolidation, and Extension.

Revision and Catch-Up

When your child first starts with Kinetic Education, their learning plan targets the areas they need the most support with. For Year 11 students, this may include revisiting essay structure, paragraph writing or grammar basics before moving into more complex work.

Consolidation

Once their foundations are stronger, your child practises the skills being covered in Year 11 English. This may include language analysis, text study and essay writing.

Extension

When your child is feeling confident in Year 11 English, we give them the opportunity to move ahead, including more advanced content for students heading towards senior assessments.

Real English Tutors for Year 11 Students

Year 11 is a pivotal year, setting up the work your child will do in Year 12. When your family joins Kinetic Education, you are matched with a tutor who helps your child get off to a strong start, while overseeing their personalised learning plan and keeping an eye on their progress each week. Each activity is designed to teach your child, give them instant feedback and help them build confidence as they move through the curriculum.

Our English tutors also provide additional support with writing tasks. If your child is working on a piece of writing, their tutor can give feedback on planning, structure, grammar, punctuation and clarity, helping them improve their next draft with confidence.

Our tutors are also here for parents. You can speak with your tutor about your child's learning needs, progress and weekly reports, so you know how they are going and what they are working on next.

Tutor support includes:

  • A dedicated English tutor matched with your family
  • Oversight of your child's personalised learning plan
  • Feedback on writing tasks, including planning, structure, grammar, punctuation and clarity
  • Guidance for parents on progress, learning needs and weekly reports

To be able to complete the tasks in her own time showed maturity and growth.

My year 7 struggled with transitioning to math. We started using Kinetics in term 2. She showed gaps from grade 4. She loves this tutoring system. To be able to complete the tasks in her own time showed maturity and growth. Their correspondence is amazing. She is now up to year 7/8 and is feeling very confident. And the pricing is amazing. A++++ here

Not even a year into starting Kinetic and she has already caught up to her year level and learning so much.

We started the program with my daughter who is in year 7. When she first started she had gaps all the way back to grade 4 with her mathematics. Not even a year into starting Kinetic and she has already caught up to her year level and learning so much. The tutors are extremely friendly and accommodating when you need them and the staff also check in with phone calls to see how she’s enjoying and doing with the program. Definitely glad we joined Kinetic and can’t recommend them highly enough.

I am using it with all of my children and have found it to be a wonderful program for children who have just started primary school as well as those in high school.

We have been so happy with Kinetic Education. I am using it with all of my children and have found it to be a wonderful program for children who have just started primary school as well as those in high school. The tutors have been incredibly encouraging, providing clear explanations helping my children make sense of complex material. Kinetic Education tutors always check in to make sure we are satisfied and to provide feedback on how each of my children are progressing. I can reduce or increase the workload at anytime and the activities can be made more difficult or more easy to ensure they are at just the right level for each child. Just this morning my daughter who has just started high school said 'what we were learning in maths today I have already covered it in Kinetic Education so it all made sense and I was even able to help my friends'. The best feedback from someone who a year ago had very little confidence with maths and just felt it was a subject she was no good at.

I highly recommend it to other parents looking for quality academic support for their children.

Kinetic Education has been a fantastic study support resource for my daughter since Year 9, and it has continued to provide excellent assistance through yr 11. The structured yet flexible program ensures that students can work at their own pace while still covering all necessary content. The progress tracking and regular feedback have also been invaluable in keeping us informed about her improvements and areas that need more focus. Overall, Kinetic Education has been an excellent investment in my daughter's education, and I highly recommend it to other parents looking for quality academic support for their children.

Year 11 English Tutoring FAQs

Is Year 11 a good time to start English tutoring?

Yes. Year 11 introduces language analysis, text study and more demanding essay writing, and it's the year that sets up Year 12. Making sure your child is confident now can have a real impact on their senior results.

What does a typical week look like for a Year 11 student?

New English activities are added to your child's learning plan for the week. They spend around 15 to 20 minutes a day working through them on a tablet or computer, at whatever time suits your family, around school, work and everything else. Each lesson includes clear explanations, examples and instant feedback, so your child is learning as they go, not just practising. You receive a weekly progress report showing what they worked on and how they went.

What if I'm not sure what level my child is at?

We check your child's English skills to understand where they may need more support and where they are ready to move ahead. From there, their personalised weekly learning plan is matched to their level, helping them strengthen key skills and build confidence as they continue through the curriculum.

My child wants to take advanced senior English subjects. Can you help them prepare?

Yes. For students aiming at advanced senior English subjects, their personalised learning plan can move into more challenging content, helping them build the stronger essay structure, language analysis and vocabulary skills those pathways rely on.

Will Year 11 English help my child prepare for Year 12?

Yes. Year 11 is where the essay structure, language analysis and writing accuracy that Year 12 relies on are built. We focus on making these foundations solid, so your child can step into Year 12 with confidence.
